Castle Bulletin Board

This is the whole board from the other side of the room with a white board in the center.
Edited to add: This is actually not on the board. It's the wall on either side of the actual white board. It's rather large and goes all the way up to the ceiling.

I finished the castle bulletin board on Friday, but forgot my camera, so the teacher sent me these pictures this morning. It came out better than I pictured it in my mind. I just love it when that happens. I can't take a whole lot of credit for it. She purchased the stone paper and the cloud paper and sent me a sketch of a castle she liked.

And continuing with that same theme, this is the new addition to the bulletin board in the teacher's lounge.

I'm not even sure who made this image so if you recognize it, please let me know. I received this in a image swap, years ago. It was pretty dark and gloomy here when I took this picture on Friday morning.

I had my eyes examined today and I would benefit from bifocals. I'm not sure if I want to spend the cash for them right now but it would sure be more convenient that taking the readers on and off. And as always having my pupils dilated gives me a headache, so I'm going to sneak in a nap before the kids come home.

Bulletin Board ...done!

I originally bought these light strings for my snowman ornaments.


This wreath, took me two hours to put together using one of Martha Stewart new Christmas punches and a glue pen. In case you don't already know, you can use Michaels' coupons on all Martha supplies now. I definitely did. The base for the wreath was made by cutting a circle frame (with the Coluzzle) from one sheet of green paper. I think this wreath is around 4 inches... maybe? I punched another full 12 x 12 sheet of same paper. I also used a few punches of a slightly lighter green hoping to create some variations. The red poinsettia is a glittery pick that I cut apart and and hot glued to the wreath. The center ornaments are Jolees from a Christmas sheet of presents or packages.. I ended up replacing the center with a Mary Engelbreit 3D sticker with an elf and the words Christmas Joy.


This second board only got coordinating computer generated signs.

On a personal note. I can't believe I ran out of laundry soap. I wash everyday! Anyway, I went to Walmart after putting this up at school, so I need to go and throw in a load. I've got a lot of cleaning and cooking to do before Thanksgiving. It's overwhelming actually. But, I'm excited about the holiday. I'm happy that my girls are coming home. Tomorrow I go to pick up the freshman and the older one comes home on Tuesday. Yippee!!

ETA: In my spare time, I've been working on some Christmas images. Hopefully I'll be able to turn them into cards before long. I've decided to celebrate 200 posts and 2 years of blogging on Tuesday morning. Come back if you can for the celebration! I might even finish up one of my fall cards by then... I couldn't get any further behind... lol.

My Bulletin Boards -- Work in Progress

I spent most of my day at the school today, "cleaning up" a bulletin boards in the Teachers' Lounge. "Cleaning up" is what they think I'm doing. They don't know I'm about to create a work of art! LOL But nothing impressive yet. I just wanted you to see what it looks like so far.

This is where I stopped so that the teachers could get in that room to have their lunch.
I got all the necessary stuff back up and saved myself some room for my creativity. While they were lunching, I took a quick trip to Hobby Lobby.



After my successful trip to Hobby Lobby, I came back and added the brick border. That is where I stopped with this first one. The big blue empty space is where I'm going to do a paper pieced scene, appropriate for the Thanksgiving and then the Christmas season, with just a few minor changes. I'll probably do it at home and just take it back later this week and put it up.

Here is the "after" so far. I need to print up a few things on the computer, or die cut some letters for this one. I'm not going to do anything fancy on this one.

Another view of the second one. I am thinking about changing the top "bricks" on the first board to way I did this one. I like it better.

Tomorrow is a "day off" for the kids so I'm taking the boys to get eye exams and dental check ups. What a mean mom I am! They will get to sleep in a couple of hours later than normal. ( this means I don't have to get up at 6 am either! yippee!!!)

In the meantime I'm working on and experiment. I'm trying to figure out whether or not Prismacolor color pencils are the best on the market. So far, I do have an opinion.... I'll save that for another post on another day. (wink)
