Another Loving Wish

I finally had a do nothing day today. and I did just that.... well almost... I didn't have to go anywhere so I didn't.

I had a blast on Tuesday with my friend Dana. She drove up here to see me and we spent the day not stamping. The next time she comes or I go there we are going to do stamping, or coloring or something, I promise! This picture was taken last month when we got together.

I can't believe the summer is almost over. My kids go back to school in just three weeks. We still have a beach trip to fit in, and I have to take Jannelle back to MI before that happens. I'm looking forward to both... not the leaving Jannelle, but I don't mind the drive and I'll get to spend time with her alone.

So here is a card I did with GinaK stamps. The flowers( the background and the main image) are from Asela's set called Friendship's Garden. . The message is the same stamp I used in the previous card from Heart and Soul Rubber Stamps. I like creating tone on tone backgrounds like this one.

Three more weeks.... It's hard to believe that the summer has gone by so fast. Enjoy your day!

Loving Wish

Happy Monday!

It's been a long time since I actually made a card start to finish. I'm going to do that today. If it's the last thing I do.

I made this card before my trip. I love the floral images that Flourishes has. This one is the perfect size for coloring because it doesn't take all day to make it beautiful. The card stock is also my favorite. It's actually double-sided and textured. Michaels did good when they ordered this one.

I'm finishing up a project for Hero Arts-- which reminds me... It's a big week over at HA. Lots of new stuff revealed including revisions to the website. Lots of prizes. Hop on over to the Hero Club Blog and see for yourself.

I stamped the hands(Heart and Soul Rubber Stamps) on cream colored card stock with brown ink. Using the reverse masking technique, I stamped the Baby Jesus (Biblical Impressions) inside the hands. I colored this with Prismacolor pencils and a little blending with the colorless blending pencil. The Names of Jesus background is a Eureka Stamp. The "In the birth of" is also a Biblical Impressions stamp the other line says " the hope of the world".
It's a little dark and cloudy here this morning but if we get a little sun, I'll take a better picture and replace it later today.

Can you believe Christmas is next week? I'm still asleep at the wheel when it comes to Christmas cards and gifts. I'm not sure we are going to do too much this year. My daughter volunteered to do the Christmas newsletter because I'm not going to have time to do it without extreme stress. I can't wait to see what she's come up with. I'm still planning to finish my hand made cards if nothing else as a stress reliever. Two school Christmas parties in the next two days and then the kids are home for two weeks. I cut out stuff every year and it still seems to be too much. I'm really trying to be conscious of the real meaning of Christmas and not the stuff.
I hope you have a blessed (and not stressed) day as you prepare for Christmas celebrations.

Here is another version of the card I did the other day. The is another Baby Jesus stamp that I'm fond of. This one if from My Heart Stamps 4U. The hands are Heart and Soul Rubber Stamps.
Other stamps:Starburst (Stamp of Excellence), Merry Christmas (The Angel Company)
Ink: Brown, green dye inks, Galaxy Gold (Brilliance)
Paper:Basic Grey
Other: Prismacolor pencils and grosgrain ribbon

I've got to get to work and finish the other 8 cards which will be more like the first card I showed you. I need to get busy, especially if I'm planning to send them this season, right? Christmas is a week and a half away!!?

Among other things, I was busy last week helping with catalog stuff for Hero Arts. There were sneak peaks on the Hero Club Blog if you didn't catch it. All I have to say about the catalog is save some of your Christmas money.... Some stores have it now and it will be available online as of January 5th.

All my girls are here! Yeah! I took Jannelle to the hair salon this morning and walked out 1 1/2 hours later with curly hair. I'll take a picture later to show you... might as well give you a laugh too....
My husband was in a Singing Christmas Tree program at church. We are all relieved that its over! Rehearsing for Christmas programs are always time consuming. I'll try to show you a video of the singing Christmas tree later today. Have you ever seen one of those? I purposely took a very short video, so hopefully we won't have any trouble getting it to upload. I found someone to help me with the video of my girl singing so hopefully I can slow down enough to get his help with that later today.

Amazing Love

When I first saw this image with the hands on Dina's blog very early in the year I knew I had to have it. I didn't know what I was going to do with it until Monday. This was something that came to me as I looked at the hands. The Baby Jesus stamp is one that I drew for Biblical Impressions a long time ago. Shh, don't tell anybody, but it's still my favorite baby Jesus stamp. ;)

I like to create non-traditional looking Christmas cards if you haven't noticed. This is my design for 2008. I'll probably only make a few--definitely less than ten. And then I'm going to try to get at least a few of them in the mail-- hopefully in time for this Christmas :)

How I did this~ I stamped the hands( Heart and Soul Rubber Stamps) on cream colored cardstock with brown ink. Using the reverse masking technique, I stamped the Baby Jesus (Biblical Impressions) inside the hands. I colored this with Prismacolor pencils and a little blending with the colorless blending pencil. Amazing and love are from 2 different Stampin Up sets. The background was done with a Hero Arts DesignBlock Stunning Snowflakes. I stamped that image on brown card stock with white dye ink and and then again in dark brown ink just slightly off from the first image. I really like how this turned out!

Yesterday was a good Monday for me. So good in fact, that I made cards all day! I meant to photograph them so that I could show you, but I was in a such a good card making grove that before I knew it, it was too dark for pictures. But as you will see over the next couple of days, if my card making grove had a color, it was "brown". Every card is brown or at least has brown in it.

I love it that they have to get dressed up for school on game day. I managed to remember to snap a couple of pictures before he left this morning.


This one must be his Game Face... either that or he was in the middle of chewing his breakfast. (I'll never tell which) He's 5' 3" -- just a couple inches shorter than me now. I wonder how long it will take him to grow into his hands and feet.
