You Make me Smile

This post is brought to you by the letter H. LOL!
I just realized that all of the stamps used on the card are from companies that start with H.
Hambo for the book genres stamp which is a retiring stamp, FYI. You may recognize Bookworm Hanna from Hanna Stamps. I've used that one before. And YOU make me smile is one of my favorite Hero Arts stamps. The paper is from Basic Grey ( Urban Prairie). I scored it on my latest trip to Archivers. I love going to that store-- especially when I meet fun people. Dawn met me there and then we had lunch. I also met -- in person-- Susanna Boyd who runs Paper Craft Planet!!

For those of you who come looking for card making inspiration, I'm sorry, I've not been up to my 'normal'. I promised myself that I wouldn't make blogging another chore in my life. Lord knows I have enough of those. I've just been really busy doing a lot of other things in addition to not feeling creative lately. I did manage to color a few things in the last couple of days so when the mood hits me to make a card from it, I'll post it and show you. I do have a few creative projects that I need to finish in between the other stuff I'm doing.
I guess I'm apologizing in a way for not blogging as much, but I don't think I'll be up to my 7.9 posts a week average as I have been in the past for at least a few more weeks. I'm also hoping to get off this medicine that I'm taking for my tendinitis soon. I think it affects my mood. It's not supposed to be one of the side effects, but if you know me, I tend to be different from the 'norm' in most things.
Besides family and health stuff, I've been reading. I actually set a goal for myself to read 40 books this year. Right now my pile of books is way bigger than Bookworm Hanna in the card above.

I hope you are well. I'm hoping to do some blog surfing later today to see what every body else is up to. Choosing joy! Jacki!!!

P.S. Do you have snow where you are?

Oh Happy Day... Twilight the Movie countdown...

I dreamt about this Hanna Stamps set one day last week. So I bought it and I've had a good time coloring it. This first card I've made from that set is for one of my favorite teenagers Melissa. We are counting down the days until the movie Twilight is released on November 21. We are planning to see it together. When I realized this the book stack contained 3 large books and with the one she is reading I could make it look like the 4 books in the Twilight series. Hopefully Melissa will see this in person, before she reads it on this blog... OK, I'm not taking bets on that because you know my track record and I know I'll lose! I'm going to try to mail it tomorrow...
About the card:
I made a mask of the chair so that I could stamp the books right next to it.
Stamps:Bookworm (Hanna Stamps), Oh Happy Day! (Rubber Stampede)
Paper: Sugared (Basic Grey)
She is colored with Prismacolor pencils of course...

I've written three posts in the last 24 hours. As I mentioned in my prayer post, I've been sleeping for the last few days. This medicine the doctor prescribed that is supposed to prevent migraines. So far I haven't had a migraine since I started taking it-- at least I don't think I have, I've been asleep! I take it at bed time because it is known to make me sleepy, but I'm still sleeping the day away. I'm planning to call the doctor or pharmacist tomorrow to find out if this is normal.

Yesterday after I woke up, my kiddos and I went to see Dawn's daughter play soccer. I didn't get any good pictures of her actually playing so I had them pose for me after the games.
We stopped at Hobby Lobby afterwards and purchased ornaments and decorations for the mini Christmas Tree contest. By the way, YOU, the readers of this blog, will be the judges of the contest. Aren't you excited about that?
Well, that's all I have for tonight. I'm going to take my weekly medicine and my migraine medicine(aka the sleeping pill) and I'm going to lay down and watch a movie until I pass out. If I get a head start on it, maybe I won't sleep so long in the morning.
But don't think I'm complaining because it's all good! I'm trusting that the Lord is guiding me and it will all work out. As always, I'm choosing Joy! Be blessed! Jacki
