Yesterday was a good news bad news kind of day. First the good news. I had two doctors appointments in the morning. I went back to the Ear Nose and Throat Dr about my voice and he was amazed. My nodules are gone ( thank you Jesus-- and thank you for your prayers) He wants me to rest my voice for one more week before I try to sing. But having been through this before, I know to be more careful with my voice over the next several weeks. I know that my voice is coming back and it's going to be normal. ( again, thank you Jesus!)
There was more good news with my dermatologist. Things are progressing and she didn't have to inject anything this time. Any time w/o tiny needles poking my skin is a successful visit.
The rest of the day had it's interesting moments. I drove all the way to Archivers ( 45- 50 minutes from here, but only about 15 from the Dr.'s office) to get magnetic snaps. I was sooo distracted by a phone conversation that I went in and couldn't remember why I was there. Looking back, I don't think they had any because I looked around at everything Basic Grey while I was trying to remember what I was looking for and I didn't see them. Hey, that's the story that makes me feel better about forgetting so let me have it ok?
I got home to a request for a sympathy card for a large group to sign. While working on that, I was informed that my aunt passed away. She was a big part of my life growing up. Very special and dear to me. She suffered with Alzheimer's for several years so it's been a while since I've had a good conversation with her. I've already been missing her. I have a road trip home coming up in the next few days...
Anyway. Here is the card I created for the group. It was the third try. The other two cards are still on my desk, but headed for the trash... unless I get it a mood to salvage and repurpose the parts. : ) For this card, the floral is a Stampin Up set. I have no idea which one. I stamped in brown dye ink on the brown card stock and used Prismacolor pencils to color. The words and music notes are from The Stamping Studio. I remember buying this (and another set with a guitar) with a ton of ideas for cards, but last night was the first time I opened the package. I know I'm the ONLY one who does things like that!! LOL! I think I'm going to have to make several more cards with a music theme in the near future.
Well? It's Friday folks. I'm headed out to get my hair done (and cut) and get a little nap under the dryer while I'm at it. I have to get my rest before tonight's midnight release of the Twilight New Moon DVD. Yes, I am a big teenager, as my friend put it earlier in the week. Some of us never grow up. The rest of you need to get with the program. :)
Remember... When joy seems way out of reach, it's even more important make the choice. Believe this: it's a matter of life and death. One of my favorite sayings is "Life is 10% what happens to you (your circumstances) and 90% what you do with what happens to you (your reaction)". That's the version I like but I've seen the same idea with a lot of similar variations. And the Bible says:
A joyful heart is good medicine, But a broken spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22 (New American Standard Bible)
This is Jacki Marie, signing out for the day... and Choosing JOY!!! Be Blessed!
