Prayer of Serenity/ No Fear 2010

As I mentioned yesterday, I was blessed to meet Amy a couple weeks ago.  She gave me this card along with the sweet thoughtful gift I showed you yesterday.  I met her downtown Atlanta on New Years Eve and we took a drive and had lunch.
I love her card making style and always feel especially blessed when receiving a card made by her.

The last time I remember blogging about the Prayer of Serenity was when I made these cards just before we moved back to GA in 2007.

Rather than repeat myself, I encourage you to go and read it if you have a minute. Prayer of Serenity post.
So much was going on in my life then... besides a major and difficult relocation, my daughter had just graduated  high school and I was still getting over a miscarriage. I think at the time my emphasis was on the "accepting" part of the prayer. Right now, my emphasis is on the "courage" part of the prayer. As a matter of fact, my theme for this calendar year is "No Fear".  I have a third daughter graduating, and I'm more determined to help my son get out of the hole he's in at school.  I'm also looking for a full time job.  Talk about a big change. I don't have time for fear of any kind.  The Bible says   "There is no fear in love.  But perfect love drives out fear." I john 4:16-18

"God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."

I believe God is with me and I'm looking for His direction.  Pray with me as I tackle this year head on!

Amy looks like the swet person she has proven herself to be. Her card is beautiful!
I love to read your BLOG. It is like a devotional with an action message. Especially today. Two things I take away today.
(1) "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear."
(2) From the 1997 post: "Mommas and Grandmommas don't underestimate what those little eyes see on your refrigerator or in the plaque on the wall. Surround them with Scripture and positive uplifting words. (... and then be sure to model the principles too, with God's help)."
With 10 GK's who visit regularly, I need to thin out the photos I have on my fridge, and create some eye catching Scripture cards to replace them.
Thanks, Jackie!

Hey J, God must think you're a pretty amazing woman cuz He keeps piling it on. Now you're looking for a full-time job. In addition to that other full-time job as mom of five kids. I'm so glad you had a confab with Amy. She seems what you need right now. Keep pluggin' along, sweetie, and try to go with the flow. It's easier than trying to swim upstream. (((Hugs!)))
