What happened to this week! and Purple Tulips

This time I'm going to ramble first, and then I'll show you the purple tulips. Feel free to skip ahead. I won't know unless you tell me. :)

Where did this week go??? I'm still trying to figure that one out. Can anybody help me? (waaaaaaa....) I think I'm losing my mind and I can't blame it on the medicine this time. I lost two (blog related) sets of papers and I can't for the life of me, figure out where I put them. I am doing an interview with Dawn Meehan. She wrote a book called Because I said so. She's the lady who became 'famous' after putting Pokemon cards on EBay that her kids snuck in the shopping cart. I've been following her blog since then and I thought I would ask her some of the questions that have been rolling around in my mind and post it in interview form for all of you. One day last week, I wrote all those questions down on paper-- not in a notebook mind you. If I had written them in one of the many journals I have , I would probably know exactly where that was. Why an I even writing on paper these days? Because my one of my offspring was using the computer for homework. --By the way, Praise the LORD, and thanks to my husband, I have my own computer again! If I don't find those papers, I'm going to have to search my brain and re write the questions for Dawn.
The other thing I lost was the step by step directions for that coloring tutorial I was working on. Again, same scenario, kids on the computer, I wrote it down because I was thinking about it and I was having a good handwriting day. Nope, can't find that either. I wonder if "Not Me" is playing tricks on me? It's another thing on my list to re-do this weekend. The good news is, my daughter is coming home to help me with the video. Let's hope I can post them both at the same time. Wouldn't that be nice?

Hopefully things will be getting better as I get more organized. I've been busy cleaning up the kid's computer, and transferring my stuff to my new one. My new computer is an iMac. For the most part, the transition hasn't been difficult, I just have to develop a new level of comfort. Have you ever cooked in someone else's kitchen? You know what you're doing, it just takes a little more time to find everything.

And with all that said, the week disappeared right out from under me. I've had two mornings this week where the only thing on my agenda was a nap, one day when a doctor's appointment for my sick son (ear and upper respiratory infection) took priority, a basketball and cheer leading banquet (both together!!), I still managed to complete two Hero assignments and create several other cards... I just haven't had time to blog. So for today, I'm going to leave you with some purple tulips. They make me smile-- and I did even as I thought the words while typing it. :)

I hope your weekend is wonderfully blessed and joyful! I'm going to be up late tonight. The Twilight the movie is being released at Midnight. What kind of mom would I be if I didn't take my kids to the store to get it. Or maybe the question should be am I crazy? The answer is yes-- especially after the week I've had.

Two more things I would have talked about if I had blogged this week.
1. Mandisa! After putting it off for a year and a half, I finally purchased her CD entitled True Beauty (2007),  and I LOVE it. I can see why  it "created history by becoming the highest chart entry and made her the best-selling debut artist in the life of her label, Sparrow Records". (Quoted from her page on the Sparrow records site.) She was a finalist or contestant on American Idol a couple of years ago. I don't really sit down to watch that show -- only catching a performance or two during the season because my kids are watching it.  I didn't see her on Idol at all that year but I heard from several people that she was the best singer in the competition.  Her Christian testimony is what stands out the most to me.  Her music style is one that is closest to my heart. While I enjoy many styles of music, Contemporary Christian and Contemporary Gospel is what I'm most drawn to.  Anyway, I'm really excited that her next  project will be released next week.  If you go to Sparrow Records you can hear her new single and read more about her.  ( warning, if you click on the link, you have no choice but to hear the single)

2. And last but definitely not least I've been meditating on Psalm 112 this week.  I think it was the Yolanda Adams Morning that pointed me to this scripture earlier this week. I know I've read these scriptures before but this week, for some reason, it was new and fresh and relevant. This verse seems particularly appropriate for this day and time.

He will have no fear of bad news;  his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. Psalm 112:7

I'm always amazed  by how alive the words of the Bible are.  God is awesome!! --and he still loves me, even with all my "scatterbrainess" this week.

-- and if you got this far and you still want to know about the card,  just know first of all that I love you!! :)  I've owned this tulip stamp for years, one of the first sets I ever purchased.  It's a retired Hero set of four different flowers. You might remember seeing it last year I think on this card.  The background was done with a new Hero clear set. Trees Birds and Messages.
I colored the flowers with Prismacolor pencils.

I'm pretty sure I've over stayed my welcome at this point, but I had to make up for lost time, right? Have a blessed weekend!!!  Choosing Joy!!! Jacki :)  Happy Spring!!

The papers are on top of the bookshelf in your living room. No, really I have no idea, but wouldn't that be funny if they were? Assuming you have a bookshelf in the living room. And the top isn't built in or 13 ft. high.
I love this card! Great colors. Great coloring and PURPLE! Have a good weekend!

Thanks Staci!! The funny thing is we don't have bookshelves but we are going to have some built in the living room soon (which is my husband's office now). Since we moved in we've had the books in stacks on the floor where the bookshelves would be-- like visualizing the dream. Anyway, just the other day I cleared out the books so that was actually a good guess. I went back and checked around the books and the living room because that was somewhere I hadn't checked before.
I have Dawn's book now to review, so I may end up with totally new questions.

I have that verse clipped up on my desk along with verse 4 - "even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man"...verses that really encouraged me after Russ' illness began, and after the few months of depression that followed.

Glad you had a purple tulip day!

I almost posted both verses Dina. That one especially reminds me of a song I love by Yolanda Adams. We are definitely kindred spirits.

Nice card! It's good to see those purple tulips again..
Great Bible verses; and yes, it is amazing to me how alive and so often just for me, at that time, on that day.
Mandisa! I could not believe it when she was voted off that year. She definately had the best voice. Although I haven't bought it yet, I had read that she had a CD out. Guess I'll go to the store soon to buy it! She was fabulous and such a bright Light!

Mary, I wouldn't steer you wrong. If you like Avalon for example, you'll love Mandisa. You can hear her music online if you want to preview it. I listened to the new one on the following website and in fact I'm listening to it now. http://widget.nabbr.com/mandisa.html
I found True Beauty online the other day, but I can't find it right this minute.

You can google her and find other sites with videos and full length tracks of her songs. For a first album, I was surprised that EVERY song was awesome. I don't skip over any of the songs and that's rare for me. I'm going to get the Christmas album soon too!

Yay! Jacki loves me! (I read to the end of the post!) I HAD to find out if that was a new designer paper on the background- and to find out it's stamped 'the old-fashoined way'! Better yet, I think I own that set! In fact, I think I have both it and the floral one! I think you're gonna get 'cased'! Thanks for sharing

oh, I hear your pain. I am always losing papers I'm working on, Jacki. Hope you find them SOON. But here's a little something to give you a grin. Showed my first creation with my new stamp to Jeff and he said "Is that supposed to be you? Because it can't be. There is no way anyone could ever see YOUR crack because your granny underpants go half way up your back!" Thanks again! I love it!!Wishing you a week of peace, naps, found papers and glorious purple tulips!

Take care and happy stamping! Your cards are great, too! ;-)

Jacki,
I'm typing while I'm skying with my dd on her old laptop, so I didn't read your entry on this, but I wanted to say I ADORE this card! Gorgeous!
