I too would like to commit to Barack Obama.
Here is an excerpt from Mr. Hyatt's blog:
I am publicly making four commitments to President-Elect Barack Obama:
- I will pray for him and our country.
- I will assume his motives are good, giving him the benefit of the doubt.
- I will not speak ill of him, even if I don’t always agree with him.
- I will cast off the spirit of cynicism, and be a positive force for good..
I'm going to do my part to make America a better place. There is one thing I've been wanting to do for years, but the timing wasn't right. Now is the time...
During the last debate then Senator Obama said, "We should try to prevent unintended pregnancies by providing appropriate education to our youth, communicating that sexuality is sacred and that they should not be engaged in cavalier activity, and providing options for adoption, and helping single mothers if they want to choose to keep the baby."Sooo, I marched over to the local pregnancy resource center to volunteer. I'm being trained to be a crisis counselor and mentor.
I'm also reminded of a verse in scripture:
2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
God will hear us and heal our land of the financial crisis, the war and and all the other problems we face if we call on Him. Are you with me?
