Kindred Spirits

Card Stock: Long Kraft Cards (Hero Arts)
Coloring Medium: Prismacolor Premier pencils
Other: Clear Card Buttons ( Hero Arts), Embroidery Floss

I love this new stamp set( Artistic Borders). This is only the first card I've made with these stamps, and I hope you don't get sick of it before I do. LOL
I stamped the flowers in the Scattered Straw color and the leaves in Peeled Paint before coloring with the pencils.
It's really cloudy here today, but you can barely see on this close up that I added touches of glitter to this card.
Since I was going to use the DMC floss anyway, I actually stitched the buttons to the card. Speaking of this card, it is one of the new long cards. They are the size of a business size envelope. It's actually the matching envelopes that I'm most excited about. They have flaps on the end instead of the side like a regular business envelope. I stamped the flower on the flap of the envelope too, but I'm not going to color it. The last picture shows what I did to the front of the envelope. I plan to address it below the stamped line.

and here is a scan of the same card.
Because of the cloud cover the colors aren't as bright in the photo....

Speaking of Kindred Spirits....

I don't remember if I've mentioned here that we've been visiting churches over the last few weeks. I do know I talked about not feeling settled where we were. As a family we finally decided to move on. It's been interesting to say the least, but I think it's a wonderful experience for the kids ( and the parents too!). Over the Christmas holiday we visited this church in Atlanta. We mainly went because we wanted to take my Mother in Law. We've all watched and listened to Charles Stanley's In Touch Ministry for 20 years or so. Wow... it's hard to believe that it's been that long, but it has. We were so blessed just sitting there. My college age daughter really wanted to go back, but we hesitated at first because of the distance. I was afraid it would be too hard to be involved and active with a 45 minute drive. On the other hand, it's actually closer to her than us. At least we'll be able to get her there even when she doesn't come home for the weekend. Anyway we've been back twice and I would appreciate your prayers for our family as we look for God's will in this decision.

Yesterday, I was very impressed with what Dr. Stanley did at the beginning of the service. At the risk of misquoting, I won't try tell you exactly what he said, but I will tell you that I was already in line with his way of thinking, so it was very comforting. He mentioned that we have a new President and that his job with the current set of problems he is faced with is bigger than any man. He said a few more things too and then he told us to stand up and join hands so that we could pray for the new administration. We also received printed cards with things we can specifically pray every day for the government and those who govern--( most of which I was already doing) Anyway, I felt like we are kindred spirits because that's the way I think Christians should behave. God is in control, I believe that and I trust Him.

And now, I'm sorry I have to ask this, but please don't leave any political comments, because that's not the point of this blog.

It's been quite a while since I've had a migraine, but it seems to be on my agenda for today, and I'm done anyway.
Please continue to join me in praying for Christopher and our country. If you've been on my prayer lists over the last year, please be in touch with an update. My goal is to get it posted on time this month.
Choosing Joy! Jacki

My Psalm for today is Psalm 16 and here is verse 11.

You have made known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Shoot...I wasn't finished yet :-).

I wanted to say that it has been so cool seeing you and your family at our church. And seeing you in Sunday School yesterday was even more of a treat.

I pray that you and your family find a church family that fits your needs. However, let the records show, that "I" think you should continue coming to OUR church...I'm just sayin :-).
