Rest in the Shadow of the Almighty

The current Salt Faith Challenge is Comfort in Suffering. The first verse I thought about was 2 Corinthians 1: 3 and 4.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

I would love to say that I'm comforted by the thought that my sufferings might be a blessing to someone else in the future, but to be honest, with when I'm in the midst of suffering, I don't think about comforting others. I know that's bad, but it's true. I don't mean to be selfish, but I tend to be focused on getting thru my current trial. Later maybe looking back, I can remember what it was like and guide someone else thru it.
Actually this challenge sent me to my scripture stamps to see what I could come up with to make a card, and I spotted this recent purchase. This verse reminded me of the story I told you last week about a time that I was really sick. My comfort was in knowing that I can trust in God, because He was working it all out for my good.
I worked on this card hoping and praying that one day, I'll be able to share it and bless someone.
This mountain scene stamp is a one from a company that went out of business that I pull out every now and then. The company was called Visual Image Printery. The verse is one that I got from Hobby Lobby from Stampabilities. It was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with a colorless blender pencil.

Beautiful card! I really like the layout of the words on that stamp which you have used so well with the mountains and pine trees.

Beautiful card Jacki! Thank you for playing along with the SALT team!

And I suspect that most people don't think about comforting others in the midst of their trials but, as you mentioned, after we're through the valley, we can then use our experience to bless those around us. :-)
