Pretty Purple Pansies

There was some talk over at Gingerwood about some really nice cards selling on Ebay. They pointed to a specific card maker. I was amazed that some of her cards were going for as much as $50-60 dollars. It really inspired me to step up my game and put some of my cards on Ebay too! I don't know how comfortable I'd be if one of my cards went for that much. Most of her current auctions are going for under $20 (for now). I can live with that!
And then wouldn't you know it, I went snooping around on Ebay and tried to find out if there was really a market for cards like that. I asked for help, because I couldn't figure out how to see the closed auctions as well as the current ones. I am amazed!!! There is really a market for nicely made handmade cards!

I have a bunch of bigger designs like this that I spend a lot of time coloring. I have no problem coloring an image like this when I'm making a card for a friend or family member, but I have a hard pricing one like this to sell. That is where I'm going to start. I think I'm going to make up a few really nice cards using images like this or maybe some like the one I did for my Mother In Law's Birthday or this one that I made for me. I'll create cards for very special occasions like milestone birthdays and anniversaries or maybe even Mother's Day and Valentine's Day. It definitely gives me something to think about. And now, if I could only figure out how to make more hours in a day!

And while I'm talking about selling cards, I have a couple hundred cards here that I should probably get rid of (sell or give away) I'm trying to figure out the best way to do that. What I know so far is the more recent ones are going on my other blog that I set up to display the cards that are for sale. I need to make time to take pictures of the ones I don't already have in my gallery. Since Jillana is still looking for a job, I think I'm going to hire her to help me with that.

We spend quite a bit of time organizing on Saturday. My husband helped me get rid of some old magazines and catalogs. I still have more to go. When I mentioned being overwhelmed with magazines last summer, a couple of people asked for some of them. I'll be in touch to see if I can donate some of the remaining ones.

I guess I should tell you about this card before I go.

Hey there friend!

I have an idea for the cards...why don't you bundle some of them up and sell them as sets? Maybe that way you'd feel better about selling your AMAZING work for $50-$60. Just a thought.

Also, I think the last time I visited you, I asked if I could borrow some of your beading magazines. Well, if you haven't thrown THOSE away, is the offer still open? Let me know...you know how to find me!

Miss ya! Love ya!!
