Paper Trey's Flower Garden

Here are my Paper Trey Blog Hop entries.

The challenge for June is to use acetate. I also used one of the newly released sets called Flower Garden.

When I first saw this set, I knew immediately that I needed these stamps. They look a lot like my "church doodles". When I take notes in church, I doodle in the margins. It helps me to focus. Now I can stamp my church doodles.

Anyway, on this first one I stamped the solid images( all stamps Paper Trey Ink) on brown card stock and colored them with Prismacolor pencils. After the inner card was positioned, I stamped the open images over them on the acetate card. I'm going to assume there is at least one new person here so I'll point you to my tutorial on coloring solid images on dark paper.
I used one of the acetate cards that Hero Arts sells. Another tip... I used a long reach button hole punch and threaded the ribbon thru the two holes. I figured it would be a challenge to get a ribbon to stick on the acetate card. I'm sure it's been done before and it's not a problem with the right kind of adhesive... I just didn't feel like messing with it.

This second one is a bonus. I wasn't trying to meet any challenge or anything.

The background was done with one of the new background stamps from HA's summer catalog and the saying is from Penny Black. The open images are stamped in brown ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils and then cut out. I used PopDot on the flowers, but the leaves just have double stick adhesive on them.

My boys return tonight from Basketball camp at UNC Chapel Hill, so I think I'm going to bake a cake!
