Design Block Butterfly COW

It's COW (Card Of the Week) time again over at Hero Arts. I've been playing around with this stamp on and off for a couple of weeks, so when they gave out the latest bunch of assignments, I asked to do this one. I think this design is so pretty that it's really hard for me to use it as a background stamp if that means covering up the design. For the most part, I figured out ways to make the card while keeping the integrity of the entire design. I'm showing you a few cards here that I made with it. And you can see the three Cards of the Week on the Hero Arts site, two of them were made by me. -- the third was made by the talented Leslie Lighfoot. Tomorrow's post will also be full of the DesignBlock Butterfly... If I can stay home long enough to photograph them today.

This first card "spotlights" the butterfly. It's similar to what I did for the Card of the Week.

Stamps: DesignBlock Butterfly and Friends (Hero Arts)
Ink: Whisper White Craft (Stampin Up)
Friends' was stamped in purple ink and embossed with clear Embossing Powder.

This time I cut out and used only part of the stamped image. 'You make me smile' is from a set called You Inspire Me.

Stamps: DesignBlock Butterfly and saying (Hero Arts)
Ink: Brown Distress Ink (Ranger), Whisper White Craft Ink and Blue Dye(SU), Medici Marble( Fresco Chalk Ink) I wipe the chalk off after the ink dries, Versamark
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip ( SU) Kromakote Glossy Card Stock
The butterfly overlay was stamped with Versamark and embossed with a Pearl White Embossing Powder.

Can you believe it? I was totally out of brown brads so these Faux brads were made by punching a small circle from brown card stock and using the Clear Dimensional stuff like Crystal Effects.

This one was done pretty much like the previous one.

On this one is I used leftover strips of card stock embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The Thank You was also stamped on a scrap of vellum. Adhesive was applied to the top and bottom of the strip and covered with a circle folded in half.

Have you noticed something about all of these cards??? No coloring! SHOCK!... makes me want to go and color something...

Wonderful cards, Jacki. It has been so fun to check into the HA blog and see you as the artist for the card of the week. Question for you: how are you storing your clear HA stamp sets? The outer envelope on mine is ripping, and I'm trying to figure out a better storage solution.

Thanks Kathy W,
For my storage, check out my post on April 28. There is a picture of the clear cd cases in a basket.
