Movie Update

Happy Thanksgiving!!! I'm still cooking, but I thought I would pop in and let you know about the movies we've seen in the last couple of days. Melissa, you should definitely go to see it!!!

We went to see This Christmas yesterday and it is wonderful. It's rated pg 13 so it hints at a few things but doesn't show them. There are a couple of scenes where there is violence, but it isn't graphic. I didn't take my boys (9 and 12), because we had a "Girls Day", but my sister took her 11 year old. It's a very touching story about a family and all their secrets and problems. I loved it and would go to see it again if I had the money or the time. You have to go and see this one!

Another movie to rent or purchase is Hairspray. My kids saw it this summer and loved it, so I purchased it for them on Tuesday. I never saw the original movie and had no clue about it's content. I was pleasantly surprised at the theme and the music. It's set in the '60s so the Motown Sound is prevalent. It's theme is about civil rights and segregation-- I was surprised about that. It was done in such a way that it didn't feel hurtful or serious, but the message was
definitely there. The musical performances were phenomenal!!! I'll have to watch that again when I can sit down and be still. I watched it in the van the other night when we were going to the airport.

I went to bed at 8:30 last night. I was evidently exhausted. I usually do quite a bit of my cooking on Wednesday night and since I didn't I must get back to cooking. I have a blessed day with your family and friends. I'll be back later tonight or tomorrow....

Happy Thanksgiving Jacki!!! Hairspray is my FAVORITE MOVIE of all time! I saw it in the theatre THREE times (I have never done that in all my life with ANY movie). It's so inspirational and you just can't help tapping your toes throughout the whole movie! I can't wait to buy my copy so I can watch it another 29 zillion times. My favorite song is Can't Stop the Beat!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hugs,
Amy

Thanks for the movie update Jacki! I have already made my mind up that I'll be seeing This Christmas over the weekend. Thank you for the update.

Hairspray is one of my favorite movies. I enjoyed the original movie, but I think I like this version even better. I love the music in it. I took my daughter to see it, in fact she ended up seeing it about 3 different times! You will have to sit down and watch it when you can enjoy it.

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
