How would you answer this question?

Why do you need so much stuff?

I didn't have an answer either when my husband looked at me in all seriousness and asked me, "Why do you need so much stuff?" I'm still speechless. I don't know why, I just know that I do! We were talking family finances ( bad move) and I mentioned how much I spent at that convention a few weeks ago. I really didn't do too bad, I was only there two hours and made a couple of .. ahem...three or four purchases. There I go justifying and making excuses. lol.

Anyway, I was just thinking that he was a nice man for driving the college girl back on Sunday and he had to go and ask me something like that ??
Cleaning has it's benefits other than the obvious. I found this while cleaning out my file cabinet. I did this back in 2001. I call this Watercolor Stamping. I don't know why it has to have a name in the first place, but it does. I used water color paper and regular water color paint. The trees (AAArubberstamps.com) are stamped with water color paint. I apply the paint directly to the stamp with a small paint brush. I stamped and embossed the mountain tops( Posh Impressions) with pearl embossing powder. I painted the rest in with my little old paint brush. I added shimmer to the sunset with Pearl Ex water colors pallet.

I'm having a lot of fun right now, believe it or not . I'm cleaning and purging with a vengeance. As you know it always looks worse before it gets better. Here's what my room looks like now. I'm showing you this so that when I get it really nice and clean, you'll be impressed. (smile)

If you don't hear from me in a couple of days, send for me.....

My hubby ask me that all the time, most of the time I don't ansewer I just smile. Or I say something like "cause I need it"
You know I was just thinking about cleaning out all my cubbys to see what I can find and to get rid of. Good luck, can't wait to see the results.

It's going to look great and be very functional when you're done...at least for a while. KateD

my hubby doesn't say anything at all. he knows that it is the hobby I can do without my eyes and it relaxes me also.

you still can see your floor, so you have room for more stuff! If my hubby asked me that, I would ask him why does he need cookies every hour or M and M's jars full or why is he a workaholic or why is his belly 9 1/2 months pregnant. that would shut him up fast.

Jacki, girl, you just did this a few minutes ago when you packed up and moved to Atlanta! It seems like a few minutes... maybe it was a few weeks ago. I just found out we're moving back to CA in a couple of months and I'm dreading going through all that. But I saved all your advice on packing! LOL

Jacki, my stampin' sister! I feel you on the 'why do I need so much stuff?' question. My husband and I have that conversation from time to time. :^) It's legal and it's therapeutic. I have replaced buying clothes with buying crafts (of course, I still buy clothes for the kids). That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Looking forward to seeing your clean craft room - you may have inspired me....

Take care and STAY POSITIVE!

I love Jan's answer. I can see the floor!
and Loni, the difference is when I moved in, I just opened boxes and put things away. Now, I've decided that I have too much put away and I'm not using it so I'm dumping each drawer and reevaluating each item.
Because our last house had an unfinished basement, I used my room in the basement as a big storage closet and I worked from a smaller room on the first floor. This time I'm trying to get it all in to one room and down to the stuff I actually use.

I know why you need so much stuff! It's because that by sending hand made cards to family and friends it shows that you took the time to do something special for them. And it brightens their day. You never know who you will send a card to that really needs it and it arrives just when needed!! God is amazing like that! We just have to listen to His prompting. Supplies are never stuff, stuff is something that sits around and collects dust because it is never used. Our stamping supplies are used all the time. I am currently making cards for a fund raiser for an animal rescue! There are so many things that we as stampers can do! Don't get me wrong, I do watch the budget and look for sales.

I just have 4 letters for you, my friend... C.A.S.H.!!! When shopping for ANY card making and/or scrapbooking supplies...these 4 letters should be with you at all times. These 4 letters can not be traced later :-). The 4 letters will keep THE questions from being asked of you. Ya feel me?!?!?

Now about this room of yours...Why do you need so much stuff??? HAHAHAHA Can't wait to see it when it's all prettied up!

That painting is FABULOUS! I think it would look great on the wall in your stamp room.

The same with my husband and THE question, LOL. I'll be praying for you and your task ahead, I'm sure you will be very happy when you finish. I wish I was there to help you. TFS.

Glad you are getting the hole in the ceiling fixed. It would hurt to have to move those shelves too much!!!
