I've done workshops with this craft and everyone always loves it. I purchase baby socks whenever I find them on sale. Sometimes, like this time, I use the socks that the newborn has worn and it becomes a keepsake ornament.
I think she gave it to me 9 years ago the same year my last baby was born . I took her idea and using his newborn socks and made another one.
Of course, as always, the kids wanted to make one too and the tradition began.

ETA: One of these days, I post actual instructions, but for now let me add this:
The main ingredients are baby socks. The body is made from white socks from the toe to just above the heel. The hats are made with the ribbed part from colored socks. We also use pipe cleaners and pom poms, buttons and anything else I can get my hands on.

Too stinkin' cute! I will have to try one of those one day. I am a sucker for snowmen!
These are great!! Its been a longstanding tradition in our family among my sister-in-laws and me that we make Christmas ornaments Thanksgiving weekend. We've been doing this for 30+ years and I have the ornament from each year that we made. The best part is the memories that each holds.
WOW ~ I just LOVE your baby sock snowmen!!!!!!!!
