I made this card, just because I bought the cute little monkey. Today, I feel like I'm surrounded by the jungle just like this monkey. I'm thinking about homeschooling my son because I think he needs special attention that the school doesn't have time to give him. He is very smart, but he's struggling to turn in things on time. I'm frustrated-- just frustrated. Frustrated with him, frustrated with the teacher, frustrated with myself. Frustrated because he is in an excellent school and is very intelligent so there shouldn't be a problem, right? Frustrated because I'm doing whatever I can from here and we still can't figure out what to do differently. I'm sooo frustrated. Just frustrated. Homeschooling could solve one problem for him, but may create many others. I need the wisdom on how to handle it all. I need a good synonym for the word frustrated.

For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 2:6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6

There is more to learning than excellent minds! Our children all learn differently, and for some, the school set up, which simply must be geared toward the majority, just does not work. I have one child like this, and formal school set up would never, ever have worked for her.

Anything that happens from the age of 12 to 20 I blame on hormones and from 45 - 60 menopause. I hope you are able to work through the issues and find the right solution. Your card is great.

Jacki, wish I had some great words of wisdom here, but I don't. However, this may only be for a short season and things may normalize with your son. I pray they will.

BTW, not only do I like this monkey card, but I like the one in the new Cardmaker Magazine:)

Wow, I didn't see the Cardmaker yet - Congrats! I am sorry that you are going through frustrating times with one son. I know it can sometimes be like that where a child is really intelligent and can't get it together in one area. I knew kids who were chronically late to class. Others who never did their homework. The hardest part is getting them to WANT to excel at every aspect, including getting work done on time. We struggle with this with our eldest, too. She is getting better this year, with a new teacher. I'll pray for you to find a solution.
