My Mother's Day 2007

I definitely had a blessed Mother's day with my family. After church, my husband cooked lunch and was a little surprised that everyone loved the pasta and spinach dish. We all decided that he needs to cook at least once a week!

The Hyrangeas are so pretty that they don't look real. They also gave me an MP3 player. I hope it doesn't take me a century to get it up and running.

My oldest son (age 11) gave me flowers (not pictured) and a handmade bowl.
I thought it would be perfect for the Prima Flowers that have been spread out all over my desk all week. They come in a tube, but it is hard to get them all back in without squishing them.

My 8 year old made this card for me.

The purple flowers on the front of the card are actually removable coupons. He has promised to "walk Sam", "wash Sam" , and "pick up Sam's poop". He's already retracted that third one, because he says it goes along with the first one. The lady bug inside left says "Hi Mom". And then on the right is the best poem I've read in a long time. (spoken like a true mom)

Here's what it says:

My Mom is better than your mom!
by Mitch Allen Jones ( 3rd Grade)
My mom is better than your mom!
My mom can make cards like a card maker!
My mom is better than your mom!
My mom cooks outstanding spaghetti!
My mom is better than your mom!
My mom always says thank you when I clean my room.
My mom is better than your mom because she always hugs me before bed!
My mom is super awesomer than your mom!

Sam with MY headphones! Ok, who put MY headphones on the dog??!!

Jacki, you have a beautiful family. You are blessed. And, there is a future card artist in the making I see!

Looks like you had a wonderful day; your son has definitely inherited your gift. And what a precious poem!!

Sounds like an awesome day! Now is when you reap the benefits of all of the hard work of raising 5 - more Mother's Day gifts! LOL! Seriously, great poem & neat cards from all. My day was OK good - not great. Did some nice things, endured some fighting from girls who swore the night before that it would be a "no fighting day" for MOM! :{
