a Tag of a different color...

I'm thinking about the Wizard of Oz for some reason.. a horse of a different color...

The tag I'm thinking of is a name tag! Lately when you see "tag" on a blog, it means something else.
Anyway...

Remember when I said I was working on something for the ladies that participated in my Leap Year challenge. Yes, I'm referring to the challenge that was last month. I'm slow, but I have good intentions... Hopefully all the ladies have received these by now.
Anyway, I sent them each a name tag just for participating. The stamps on the top six tags are all Hero Arts clear stamps. The main image on the bottom tag that looks like a stamping supply label (for Julie) is by a company called Stamps in Motion. I also used CTMH, Hero Arts on that one.
I bought unfinished wood rectangles from Michaels. They were painted, stamped and then varnished. I used Scrabble stickers from Jolee's to spell out the name.

By the way ladies, if you are reading this and you aren't happy with the way I spelled your name, email me, I can send you more stickers. If you are happy, you might want to use a stronger glue to permanently attach the letters. I just used the adhesive that is already on them( because I wasn't sure of the spelling). When I made my own several years ago the letters started to fall off after a couple of wearings. I don't remember if I used Goop or hot glue, but they haven't fallen off since and I wear it all the time.

Blog business:
Anybody wanna pray with me -As it approaches the end of the month, I'll be updating the prayer list. Please contact me with any requests you'd like me to add to the list. Please send me any updates if you've already been on the list.

Comment Moderation:
I'm still periodically getting junk comments so I'm going to keep screening comments for now.

ABC Challenge: Is anybody still playing with me? I'm up to G and I can't think of a G category so I may go to G stamps. I have a category called Girlfriends. Unless anybody has any great ideas, I'll pick up with G after my surgery.

The last week before the surgery. I am down to the wire. I'm excited that I'll get to spend time with one of my new friends Deb. S this week. I also still plan to get more of my Hero projects done before the surgery. As you know I can't share those, but I'm sure I'll still make cards that you can see. Making cards isn't where I struggle. I need to get the rest of my house in order before the 9th.

I don't know if I'll be back today with a card or not. I know I promised that I would have a tulip card each day until I see tulips in real life so, in a half hearted effort to keep my promise, I'm going to link you to the many tulip cards in my gallery. One might get the impression that I like purple or tulips after looking at this collection. Tulips in my Gallery

Thanks again ladies for participating. Enjoy your day.

Jacki, would you add my friend to your prayer list please? She was diagnosed today with "probable multiple sclerosis". She already has a chronic life-threatening disease she was diagnosed with 2 years ago. She is 45 and basically all alone in the world. She believes in God but is very new at that. She was raised by very anti-Christian people and the whole issue is something very new to her to consider. She has asked for prayer. I am very concerned for her since she has previous mental health issues and this ordeal could tip the balance. She is a wonderful person, trying so hard to move forward in life and keeps getting the pins knocked out from under her. She has suffered terrible losses in her life.

Great idea Denise. I have some Art Institute Glitter that I have never used! I use a sprinkling of Prisma glitter all the time. Since this ABC thing is to motivate me to use neglected stuff, that Art Institute glitter would be perfect for the G!

I'm on it Donna! Do you mind sharing her first name?

I was going to suggest grosgrain ribbon or game pieces (your scrabble tiles made me think of that - it could be stamped pieces or real - but I like denise's glitter idea - I don't believe I have ever used glitter on a card before, though I do have some.

Thanks for the reminder about your challenges, I'll get caught up this week.
